Each year, billions of dollars are lost as a result of identity theft across Canada and the U.S. If it happens to you, the last thing you need is to lose even more money while you’re trying to get the situation fixed. Taylor Group of Companies is pleased to announce that coverage for identity fraud expenses is now included in your policy, at no additional cost. This coverage reimburses you for expenses you incur to deal with your identity fraud up to a maximum of $10,000 (per occurrence). What expenses are covered? Notarizing affidavits for, sending certified mail to, and telephone expenses for calls to law enforcement agencies, financial institutions or similar credit grantors and credit agencies; Loan application fees for re-applying for loan(s) due to the rejection of the original application because the lender received incorrect credit information; Your loss of earnings, up to $500 per week to a total of $2,000, which you incur as a result of time off work to complete fraud affidavits; Reasonable lawyer fees incurred for your defence against any suit(s) by businesses or their collection agencies, the removal of any criminal or civil judgements wrongly entered against you, or any challenge to the information in your consumer credit report. To qualify, Taylor Group of Companies must be notified within thirty days of you becoming aware of the identity fraud. Identity fraud expenses do not include expenses incurred due to any fraudulent, dishonest or criminal act by you, or any person acting with you, or your authorized representative, whether acting alone or in collusion with others. Coverage does not apply to losses covered under the Credit/Bank Card, Video/Library/Card, Forgery And Counterfeit Money coverage provided by your habitational policy. |
